Our Story

Hi there! I'm Nicole, the founder of UPF50+ SHADY Driving Sunscarf.      

Over recent years, I’ve become increasingly aware of sun exposure while driving.  

The daily work commute, shuttling kids to school, sports and all the other "quick trips" 

have added to a lot of unwelcome sunny hours for my driving side.  

If you're anything like me, you typically don't apply sunscreen before getting in the car.  

It feels greasy, the trip is short or there's none handy.  

The idea for SHADY was born when I read that research studies  link between 

over 50% of sun damage to UV exposure while driving.   

Skin cancers are mainly found on the driving side of our bodies 

(right-hand side in Australia, left-hand side in the USA).

The reason for this is that while front windscreens block most UV rays, side windows don't.

So, I decided to create something specifically for the driving occasion.
